Reading
Independent Novel Studies - Term Four
The package above includes a page which you may like to print in order to keep notes on your chosen novel, as you read. There is also a simple book report template which includes question prompts to help you with your writing, as well as an overview of the Show Bag presentation guidelines.
(Note: The items suggested on the Show Bag page are there for inspiration only, and may require a considerable amount of time to create. Please don't feel pressured to create many, or any, of these. The focus for this project is on fun. It is offered as an opportunity for you to highlight your critical and creative thinking skills as they relate to your novel, but you will need to determine your own timetable for the project. Depending on the time you have left after completing the reading of your novel it may be wise to prepare a simpler presentation focusing on thoughtfully designed souvenirs and nick nacks instead. Take a look at the sample Show Bag below for ideas. The design is entirely up to you either way. Just make sure you enjoy it!)

Class Novel Studies - Terms 1 to 3
Term Three
Our Term Three novel of choice is the book Wonder by RJ Palacio. It's a wonder-full book exploring the issues of friendship, change, humanity and what makes us who we really are.
If you'd like to share your feelings about the book, feel free to leave a comment on our blog page. I'm sure others will be interested to hear your thoughts. Term 4 Note: If you enjoyed Wonder, you may also be interested in exploring the book Auggie and Me, by the same author, which is available now in our school library. |
Term Two
Our Shared Reading adventure for this term focuses on the wonderful story of Annemarie and her Danish family during World War 2.
