Maths - Online Extras

Dear Feathertails and Families,

With many of us currently learning at home, a few in our team have asked about online Maths resources they might be able to try for fun or extra practice. That's what this page is about.

It's important to remember, these websites aren't designed to match with our learning approach at school, or our school programs, they are listed here just as an option for those looking for some more skill-building practice or revision.

Some may be better than others too, so to help us create the best possible list of resources, please email Matt with your recommendations or requests.

Finally, if you decide you would like to try one, be sure to ask your parents permission first, and remember to keep track of how much time you're spending online.

Don't forget, our most meaningful and authentic experiences with maths happen as we engage with the beautiful world around us. So get out there.

If you are thinking of giving some of these pages a try, here are a few tips:
- Ask your parents to complete any registration process needed so that your personal details remain private.
Hint: If you need to create a username you can remember, try using your first name only and list your surname as TNS.
- Please don't subscribe to any paid content for school purposes. We'll be adding new free resources to Bamboo Learners each week.
- Never click on advertisements. If you'd like to access a program please use the link on this page.
- Remember our school guidelines as you explore - Keep safe, keep others safe.

Khan Academy

Picture
Khan Academy doesn't have many games but it is filled with hundreds of videos and practice activities to help you continue to build your maths skills. You can also watch the instructional videos as many times as you like, so it doesn't matter if you miss something the first time around.
Tried a video, and still have questions? Email Matt and we can work on it together in class.
To log in to Khan Academy use the class code: XYAMRVBU

Matific

Picture
I've only just been introduced to matific, but I've heard students saying they really enjoy it. If you'd like to give it a go, click on the picture above and log in with the class code: QRKF7Y

Prodigy

Picture
Here is a link to Prodigy, the fantasy maths game some of you have enjoyed in the past. Click on the picture above to get started.
If you've already played Prodigy, you only need your username and password in order to log in and play anywhere.
If you haven't yet set up an account, and your parents are happy for you to give it a go, just click on 'New Student', enter the class code:
97DC27 and follow the prompts to set up your account.

Note: Prodigy includes optional paid content but you don't need it to enjoy the game. Please don't bother. Keep your eye on this page instead. We'll have many more ideas coming soon ... and don't forget ... real maths is happening all around you every day. Go searching and see what you discover.
