Rules:
A game for two or more players.
Each player searches for words that can be made from the letters of (adjacent) touching cubes. When forming a word a player begins at any given cube then looks for an adjoining letter either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally that could follow the current letter to begin forming a word (see picture below). The aim is to make as many unique words as you can, the longer the word the better.
a) Words must be at least three letters long, but you may not use the same letter cube more than once in any one word.
b) Both singular and plural words can be listed separately,
When play begins, players have 3 minutes to record all the words they can find on a piece of paper, keeping each word secret until the scoring phase.
In the scoring phase, each player reads off his or her list of discovered words. If two or more players wrote the same word, it is removed from all players' lists. For all words remaining after duplicates have been eliminated, points are awarded based on the length of the word. The winner is the player whose point total is highest.
Scoring:
Words of 3 or 4 letters - 1 point
Words 5 letters long - 2 points
Words of 6 letters - 3 points
Words of 7 letters - 5 points
Words with 8 or more letters - 11 points.

Example:
In this game, the word MILL can be made by beginning at the M and moving diagonally, horizontally (left) and vertically (down).
If no other player finds the word MILL, this would score 1 point. If another player also found this word, both players would cross it off their lists and it would score 0 points. |
